Kenny Rogers & The First Edition - Heed The Call (Midi)
comp, 1974.
Bought this for the obvious ‘Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Conidtion Was In) from one of my favourite film soundtracks 'The Big Lebowski’ [Coen Brothers], this LP also contains 'I Believe in Music’ which mirrors this song 'Heed The Call’ lyrically chanting about music.
Open Percussion Intro.

Tony Evans - Get Up, I Feel Like A Sex Machine (Rediffusion)
wrt. James Brown, 1971.
Having posted a Rosetta Hightower track cut from a Rediffusion LP, I dug a little deeper and found some further LPs that hold promise. Tony Evans’ version of ‘Get Up, I Feel Like A Sex Machine’ is one of the gems i came across and bought on this British budget label, with associations to ITV terestial television channel attested having watched 'The Big Match Revisited’ [a football repeat from the 1970s] last weekend and noticed Rediffusion had a advertising hoarding around the football pitch. Coincidence or not, but I have also read Tony Evans was a arranger for 'Come Dancing’ akin to Jack Hawkins I posted a week or so ago.
Happy Retirement Mark G on your last day! “Stay on the Scene mate!”. Thanks for the musical inspiration you taught me.
